Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is Kizomba?
Kizomba is a popular dance which originated from Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, Mozambique and Sao Tome & Principe. Check out our selection of videos below:
  • Will I need a partner to take dance lessons?
No. There will be other people there without partners. We rotate partners throughout the class so even if numbers are uneven everyone gets the chance to dance.
  • What if I have never danced before?
Absolute beginners are welcome. Like most new things you try, it will take a bit of time before it becomes second nature but our classes are well structured, which makes learning easy and fun.
  • How long does it take to learn Kizomba?
This depends entirely on the individual. We do highly recommend that everyone to finish the 8 weeks Foundation Classes to get a proper understanding of Kizomba technique & connection before moving on to the Roots & Improvers Classes.
  • What do I wear in classes?
Wear something comfortable. No need to wear special dance shoes, however avoid shoes with excessive grip on the soles. As this is a close-connection dance, be mindful of your personal hygiene. Chewing gum, deodorant and body spray are always good to have before classes.
  • How do I pay?
We all want to dance more so we encourage everyone to pay online and book classes to speed up the process between classes. However you can pay by cash in class, bank transfer, or purchase special packages with great discounts.
  • Can I post my own content on your page?
Our main aim is to provide concise content to our students and followers, making it easy for them to find information about Dança events, including classes, workshops, or festivals where we are directly involved as organisers or instructors. We do not post other content (including other local events) to keep all content relevant and easy to find. Our Facebook group rules also follow these guidelines.
